Your driving lessons with IDT driving school driving instructors

Learning to drive is not as difficult as most people think, provided a methodical teaching plan is followed.

In order to start taking driving lessons, you must be at least 17 years of age and hold a valid provisional driving licence. more>>

The most commonly asked question of driving instructors is 'how many lessons will I need?' The DSA website says on average, learners need about 45 hours of professional driving combined with 22 hours of private practice. more>>

We all know everyone learns at a different rate, so this is only a guide. IDT will teach you at your own pace, whether it is through an 'intensive course' or 'fast track', or by taking it nice and steady.

The featured IDT Driving Instructor in the Watford area is Elizabeth Watkin. Elizabeth Watkin

Elizabeth Watkin is one of our experienced Driving Instructors, giving driving lessons in Watford and the surrounding areas in Hertfordshire. Elizabeth has been with IDT for many years and as Area Manager likes to work closely with her colleagues. Elizabeth enjoys helping each individual learn how to be a safe driver for the rest of their driving career, be they novice or lapsed, young or not so young.

IDT Driving school has a structured teaching plan, so that you will learn to drive in the fewest possible driving lessons according to your ability, yet still achieve the highest levels of safe driving.

  • Every lesson will start with a recap of what was achieved on the previous driving lessons.
  • This will be followed by the aims and objectives for the driving lesson.
  • At the end of every driving lesson, IDT driving instructors will analyse with you what was achieved, and the unique IDT Homestudy Booklet, which is supplied free to each student, will be completed in order to monitor your continuing progress.
